1.
Axle and bearing size has been increased from 1-1/8" to 1.5".
2.
Number of bearing reduced from 5 to 2 on a 4 row 38" gang assembly.
3.
This makes every bearing an end bearing eliminating the need to disassemble the whole assembly to replace bearings.
4.
This is made possible by utilizing the time proven Roll-A-Cone row shapers on a single pipe, instead of 4-22" rollers with disc harrow blades and bearings between the rows.
5.
Utilizing the time proven PATS cultivator parallel linkage, we can move everything forward, reducing weight and cost versus KMC & Unverferth reach arms.
This is the cover of my A, E & E Digest from March of 2001. It documents the achievements I have been blessed to have been a part of with many farmers, NCSU, NC Department of Agriculture, USDA / NRCS, Orthman Manufacturing and the many fabrication shops too numerous to name from 1991 until 2002.
P-2&3 documents the progress John Strickland III Farms and I have made since 2021. I have helped John the past 3 seasons hauling seed, chemicals and water to his planters during May. What we have observed is that in 2024 & 2025 there was excessive rainfall preventing bedding and planting for a week. Then when it got dry enough to plant I put in 103 hours in 7 days in 2024 & 96 hours in 7 days in 2025. I have video showing a field that had been bedded & cone rolled for over a month with 6 to 8” of rain that kept their height & retained the moisture that resulted in consistent stands even in fields that did not have any rain for 3 weeks. The PATS Hydraulically Driven Stainless Steel Cone Rollers will allow you to:
1 – Spread your workload out.
2 – Reduce hours on tractors, labor and fuel costs.
3 – Preformed beds allow you to get in the field earlier when it is wet and allows you to have moister when is dry.
4 – Better stands in extreme wet or dry conditions.
